Hello! I’m happy to have this chance to introduce myself. I work with a wonderful team at Kaiser Permanente, and we look forward to partnering with you to take great care of your health.
I loved growing up in Pasadena, where I could play with my Christmas toys outside—even on Christmas day. This was something my extended family members in Indianapolis, Indiana, could not do. I saw the reasons early on why my father moved the family from the cold Midwest to the sunny West Coast. I graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology. I then entered the Keck School of Medicine of USC with every intention in becoming an orthopedic surgeon, but after being exposed to the specialty of anesthesia, I found my true calling. I received my anesthesia training at the State University of New York, Brooklyn. There I served as chief resident and received the Outstanding Anesthesia Resident Award. After completing my anesthesia residency, I decided to get additional training in the rewarding subspecialty of pain management from The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
About my practice
I love interacting with members. I value taking the time to get to know and understand you as an individual. I believe taking this time is the only way to practice good medicine. I use treatments based on current medical evidence and encourage members to actively participate in their own care—this is part of my practice philosophy. I was very excited when Kaiser Permanente started publicly promoting the philosophy of healthy living. Not only did it reinforce my approach to maintaining my own health, but it allowed me to share my good health practice experiences with my members.
How I thrive
Maintaining good health is a lifestyle. I exercise four days per week, usually for 60 minutes at a time. I run the treadmill, lift weights, attend spinning class, and play racquetball. My family and I try to only eat fresh food consisting of balanced proportions of fruits, vegetables, and seafood. I truly believe your body is a temple. Treat your body well and it will return the favor.
