Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of wonderful colleagues and members, and look forward to working with you to care for your health.
I chose to become a doctor because I like to care for people and I am gratified to see them get healthy again and stay healthy. I completed my training in cardiology in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Southern California, where I have practiced medicine at Kaiser Permanente for more than 30 years. I am the director of the Regional Cardiac Catheterization Lab (which is one of the busiest cardiac labs in the state), and also am an interventional cardiologist involved in cardiac interventional procedures (such as angioplasty and stent procedures on coronary arteries). I was instrumental in starting the aortic valve implantation program (TAVI) over three years ago, which has been very successful. My involvement includes the decision making process, as well as performing the actual procedures. I am also the program director of one of the largest interventional cardiology training programs in the state.
About my practice
Medicine as a career is a very special opportunity to connect and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what members need. It is a privilege to help members understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, and communicate with them and their families. I feel very honored that members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I ride my bike regularly and go on long walks. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax or read and spend time with family. I am very interested in reading books related to history and geography. I travel a lot and like to meet people from all walks of life.
