About me

Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I am honored to serve as a Kaiser Permanente physician, and I strive to provide high-quality service to our members.

Biography

I became a physician because I have always been interested in science and helping people. Advances in technology are rapidly changing the practice of medicine and genetics. I received my medical degree and a PhD in molecular biology at the University of Pennsylvania. I completed a residency in pediatrics and my clinical training in genetics at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Prior to working at Kaiser Permanente, I also did basic science research in genetics at UC Irvine. My dual training as a physician and basic scientist has helped me bring new developments in genetic testing and treatment into my practice.

About my practice

I have worked for over 10 years as a part of the Southern California Kaiser Permanente Craniofacial Team, which cares for members with craniofacial disorders such as cleft lip and/or palate, hemifacial microsomia, microtia, micrognathia, craniosynostosis, velopharyngeal incompetence, and craniofacial syndromes (Apert, Crouzon, and others). The Craniofacial Team travels to Kaiser Permanente facilities all over Southern California to provide care to members. I am also the medical geneticist for the Kaiser Permanente Orange County area. In this role, I see a wide variety of members, including infants, children, and adults with various genetic and metabolic disorders. I work with a very talented team of genetic counselors. Finally, I am a faculty member of the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine and help teach medical students.

How I thrive

When I’m not working, I try to be physically active with my family. I enjoy cooking and eating healthy foods.
