About me

Welcome to my Web page! I'm pleased to have this opportunity to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.

I’m a Southern California native, having grown up in Torrance. I attended college at UC Berkeley, followed by a semester of graduate work at Georgetown University, before heading to Tufts University in Boston for medical school. I returned to Southern California for my residency at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier. I am a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the California Academy of Family Physicians, and the Wilderness Medical Society. In the past, I have served Native American populations in Alaska and Arizona, and in 2011 I had the opportunity and privilege to take a six-month sabbatical to serve at a mission hospital in rural Nepal with the organization World Medical Mission. My wonderful wife is trained as a pediatric physical therapist, but she is now a dedicated mother to our two boys.

About my practice

One of our early pioneers in medicine Sir William Osler once said, "The physician's goal is to cure sometimes, to relieve often, to comfort always." This is a philosophy that guides me in my daily practice. I started working for Kaiser Permanente in 2002. My office is located in Brea. I am board certified in family medicine and see members as young as 4.

How I thrive

My personal interests are sports, the arts, and the outdoors. You’ll find me rooting for the Lakers, Clippers, Angels, Dodgers, and Cal Bears. I also enjoy museums, concerts, and traveling (preferably off the beaten path) when I get the chance. One of my hobbies is photography, especially travel and outdoor photography. A highlight for me was a safari in Tanzania, where I also had the opportunity to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. I am most in my element when I am active—hiking, running (including several marathons), camping, or playing basketball. I do feel it is important to maintain balance in life. I am dedicated to my role as a primary care physician, but I make the effort to exercise, eat right, sleep well, and spend time with family and friends.
