About me
Hello, my name is Dr. Htut. I provide continuing care to patients over 65 through Kaiser Permanente’s Lancaster office. I enjoy spending time with seniors and I receive a great deal of satisfaction from helping them achieve a higher quality of life in their golden years.
Biography
I was born in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, in Southeast Asia. Both my parents were physicians. Watching them help their patients inspired me to enter the medical field. I attended medical school at the Institute of Medicine in Yangon, Myanmar. During that time, I lived with my grandfather and grew to love providing care and support to the elderly. After medical school, I did my internship at Charles R. Drew University and was a resident at California Medical Center. I went on to become a fellow at the UCLA/VA Geriatrics program. All three facilities are located in Los Angeles. In 2011, I joined Kaiser Permanente. Its approach to preventative medicine is in tune with my own philosophy, and I appreciate the focus on continuity of care.
About my practice
Working with older patients requires a special touch. I listen to your observations and concerns, validate and address them, and provide the social support you may need by showing I truly care about your well-being. Family plays an important role in your care. Having loved ones around makes a big difference. I always encourage my patients to be an active participant in their own health care. By educating you as to why a particular treatment is required, providing success stories with which you can relate, and offering on-going reinforcement, you and I can do the things which will help you improve your overall quality of life.
How I thrive
I try to go to the gym regularly, eat healthy and spend time with family and friends. I love globe-trotting and travel as much as my schedule permits. I’ve been to Asia, Europe, and Africa, plus I look forward to adding a few South American entry stamps to my passport in the future.
