I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you start to get to know me.
I grew up in Hong Kong with my loving parents and older brother. At the age of 15, I moved to the United States with my family. I did my undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago. Afterward, I spent some time in medical research and teaching, and I joined Kaiser Permanente after finishing my medical studies at UC Davis. It was my fascination with science that drew me into medicine, but it was my passion for humanitarianism and love for teaching that committed me to the field. Outside of medicine, I love the great outdoors, from the ocean to the mountains.
In my eyes, a career in medicine is very special because it allows me to connect with and help people in a meaningful way. In family medicine, I take care of people from age 0 to over 100. It's a privilege to be able to share their lives and grow together with them. I cherish the special bond with my patients, which allows them to share with me their innermost secrets, fears, and hopes. Being able to help people understand what concerns them, to facilitate the appropriate evaluations, and to communicate effectively with them and their families are important to me. I feel very honored that our members have entrusted me with their care and strive to treat them as I would my own family.
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit and try to live it in my life every day. My husband and I hike, bike, and play tennis each week. We enjoy summer camping and traveling as well. I also love cooking. In fact, it's one of my deepest passions. If you have any healthy recipes to share, please let me know.
