Welcome to my Web page. I’m proud to be a Kaiser Permanente physician, not only because of our team approach to care, but also because of our use of information technology to help keep you connected to your health. I hope this page will become a useful resource for you.
I was born in a seaside city in the northeast part of China. After medical school in China, I continued my medical training in the United States. I completed my internal medicine residency at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky, and my nephrology fellowship at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. I have been working with Kaiser Permanente since 2002. Currently, I am also serving as medical director for Kaiser Permanente Riverside-Fresenius Alliance hemodialysis unit, along with my other administrative duties at the Riverside Medical Center.
I feel very fortunate to have chosen a profession I love so much. I especially believe in preventive medicine, which is one of the reasons I joined Kaiser Permanente. My clinical practice focuses on the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease, improvement of the survival and quality of life for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis patients, management of post-kidney transplant complications, and taking care of challenging patients with rare and complicated medical illness. I am board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology.
I enjoy hiking, traveling, scuba diving, and playing tennis. My evening routine is watching soap operas on TV while running on an elliptical trainer. I am working hard on my sit-ups now. My goal is to be able to do 1,000 sit-ups per day. How many can I do now? Well, it's a secret!
