Welcome to my Web page!
I was born in Croatia, and moved to this country at a young age. Being a physician was a lifelong dream. I am now the neurology residency program director. I attended college at the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard for my MD, PhD. My residency and fellowship training was at the University of California, San Francisco.
After becoming a neurologist, I chose to specialize in headache and facial pain. In addition, I have an interest in dementia. Training the next generation of neurologists is also very important to me and together we provide comprehensive care. Treatment starts with a group educational seminar, which promotes self-care principles, and provides information about medications. Following the seminar, appointments can be made. We emphasize healthy lifestyle habits for the treatment of migraines, and use migraine-specific headache treatments, that avoid opioids, bultabital and medication overuse. Our health education department has group education programs such as "Mind-Body Health" that teach relaxation, stress management, and coping skills as a lifelong means to achieve better headache control and to improve quality of life. We use various approaches to prevent migraine from occurring, and individualize treatment to provide the optimal approach for each person.
I enjoy time spent with family, friends, and colleagues.
