Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice.
I was born in Seoul, South Korea. My family immigrated to Brazil in 1972 and subsequently immigrated to the United States in 1973. We initially settled in Michigan and then moved to Oklahoma where I attended undergraduate and medical school. After finishing medical school in 1988, I moved to Southern California for my internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship. Southern California has been my home ever since. My lovely wife and I have three wonderful children.
About my practice
I have been with Southern California Permanente Medical Group since 1993. I am part of a multidisciplinary team of nephrologists, nurses, clinic assistants, administrative assistants, case managers, pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers. My practice includes office, hospital, and dialysis centers. I serve as a medical director of the FMC-South Orange County dialysis center in Santa Ana, Co-Director of Peritoneal Dialysis Program for Kaiser Orange County, and director of inpatient dialysis at the Kaiser Permanente Anaheim Medical Center. I am a member of the American Society of Nephrology and the California Dialysis Council.
How I thrive
I am fortunate to have a very close and supportive family who all live in Southern California. I am also surrounded by close friends. My sources for well-being are my family, friends, regular exercises, and my faith. I enjoy outdoor activities, including snow boarding, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, and tennis. I also enjoy traveling with my family and friends. I believe that laughter and exercise are good medicine.
