Where I practice
About me
I am a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist at Kaiser Permanente’s Riverside Medical Center. I’m glad to have the opportunity to share my credentials and provide information about my background and approach to care. I have been practicing at the Riverside Medical Center for more than five years. I am currently conducting clinical trials and serve as a research principal investigator.
Biography
I came to the United States with my family when I was 13 years old. It wasn’t until I attended UC Riverside as a biomedical science major that I discovered my passion for medicine — and ultimately, oncology. I went on to spend 8 years at UC Irvine, which included 2 years as an assistant clinical professor in the Hematology/Oncology Department.
About my practice
Teamwork is at the core of hematology and oncology. I believe that caring for members with cancer goes beyond medical treatment — it also requires attention to spiritual and emotional well-being. I strive to create a compassionate and supportive environment for members and families throughout their care journey. A key focus of my practice is advancing the science of cancer care through active involvement in research and clinical trials.
Cancer Subspecialty Focus
My clinical expertise includes the treatment of skin cancers such as melanoma; genitourinary cancers including bladder, kidney, prostate, and testicular cancers; gastrointestinal cancers; breast cancer; lung cancer; thyroid and endocrine tumors; head and neck cancers; thymoma; and both complex malignant and benign hematologic disorders.
Collaboration on Multidisciplinary Teams
I actively participate in regional multidisciplinary tumor boards that bring together experts in medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgery, pathology, and other specialties. This collaborative model helps ensure that our patients receive current treatments that are based on evidence and current research — especially for all cancer types.
Research and Clinical Trials Involvement
I am involved in several National Cancer Institute–supported research networks, including SWOG, the National Surgical Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), the Alliance for Clinical Trials in Oncology, and NRG Oncology. As a sub-investigator on multiple clinical trials, I help bring emerging therapies to our community. I am especially passionate about research in cancer survivorship, aiming to improve long-term health, reduce treatment complications, and lower recurrence risk.
How I thrive
I have only one rule in life: Don't judge. Judgment is a limitation. Always keep an open mind. My two major hobbies are badminton and tropical fish.
