Welcome to my Web page! I hope that you will find Kaiser Permanente to be the ideal place to learn all of the new skills that you will need to live a long and healthy life.
For most of my life, I've enjoyed the sunny state of California and all it has to offer. It was during residency rotations that I became attracted to the field of chemical dependency. Where else could you tackle such an important problem that impacts our members' health, families, and the communities they live in?
Our department relies on a team approach. Other members of the treatment team include our nurses, therapists, and social workers, who bring their own specialized training and experience. In keeping with modern treatment approaches, members are able to get the help they need in the outpatient setting with minimal disruption in their lives. We invite families to receive information as well, since we know this alleviates stress and improves our member's chances of recovery. Addictions can be challenging, but we find that members do get better over time as they find ways to personally apply the information they learn. Treatment in Kaiser Permanente has a great side-effect: while aiming for sobriety we also strive to improve our members experience in other areas of their lives: relationships, work, moods, health, etc.
When I'm not working with members, I enjoy reading, surfing, making music, gardening, and spending time with loved ones.
