About me

Mabuhay! It is a Filipino greeting which means “Welcome” and “Long life.” I am glad to share information with you about myself and my practice. I look forward to working with you.

Biography

I was born and raised in a small town in the Philippines. After graduating from medical school in the Philippines, I immigrated to the United States. I completed my residency training in family medicine in Pennsylvania, and moved to Southern California with my wife, who is also a physician, and two wonderful children. I worked for a few years in a rural community health center in Central California before I joined Kaiser Permanente.

About my practice

It has been a rewarding experience to work at Kaiser Permanente with a group of excellent and caring physicians and nurses. My team works with each patient by doing the best we can. It is important for my team to make each patient comfortable and well informed. The word “doctor” originated from the Latin word docere, which means “to teach.” Thus, with each visit, I try to teach patients about their medical condition. The more they learn about their condition, the better informed they will be to take care of themselves. It is important for me to establish a rapport with my patients as I would with my own family.

How I thrive

I try to maintain balance with my work schedule and personal life. I set aside time for trips with my family to the theme park or the zoo, or just relax at home by reading a science fiction novel or listening to jazz. I enjoy walking with my wife around our neighborhood. I also try to hone my skills as an amateur photographer, especially travel and landscape photography.
