Ricardo E. Jimenez-Kimble, MD
I speak: English, Spanish
My gender: Male
Where I practice
Welcome, bienvenido, bem-vindo! I'm Dr. Jimenez-Kimble, or as I've been come to be known at Kaiser Permanente, Dr. JK.
Born to a diplomat, I consider myself a child of the world. My multicultural background, mixed with my love for science and problem-solving, is a big reason I opted for family medicine/primary care. I was raised in Latin America, but did my undergraduate and medical training in Boston and New York. I recently relocated from the East Coast. I miss the subway, the snow, and the seasons, but I don't miss the cold. I enjoy sports, particularly basketball and soccer, as well as music and travel (music is my life, and I'm always looking for new suggestions!).
About my practice
I believe in curing but also preventing disease. As I tell my patients, my goal is to keep you off medications, not put you on them. I also feel that communication and trust between doctor and patient is essential. I love primary care for these reasons. The team of doctors and nurses that support me are an integral part of this approach, and we look forward to serving you with these principles in mind.
How I thrive
I exercise as often as possible, and I consider it my time. I update my workout soundtrack frequently, and make my workouts part of my routine not something extra that I can easily excuse if something more important comes up. I make healthy diet choices during the week and indulge on weekends. Life is meant to be enjoyed, but I believe that health and fun should overlap, not negate one another.
