Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm excited to be practicing here at Kaiser Permanente, where good quality, member-centered, fully integrated healthcare is our mission.
I was born in Cuba, but have lived all my life in the New York City area until I relocated to Los Angeles in October 2017. I went to medical school and did my residency training in the Bronx at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. After residency, I stayed to work in a private practice for many years until I joined Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
I practice general internal medicine for adults. I wholeheartedly believe prevention is crucial to good health and focus on preventive medicine in my practice. I believe in making use of the team-based approach to healthcare. I find that more can be accomplished in the long run by a team than by an individual. I am particularly sensitive to health issues of the LGBT community and the primarily Spanish-speaking community.
How I thrive
I’ve always believed that being well-balanced spiritually, mentally, and physically is important. I practice mediation and love to read. I am a nerd who enjoys working as physician because constantly learning new things is a requirement of being a good doctor. I exercise almost daily before work, and I am currently enjoying the high-intensity group classes that seem to be all over LA. I have picked up the Southern California hiking bug for my weekend activities.
