Where I practice
Hello, and welcome to my Web page! I am excited to be working for Kaiser Permanente. Our approach to the practice of medicine focuses on helping you stay well so you can be as healthy as possible — in essence, to truly thrive.
I was born in Fresno, California, but I grew up in Oceanside in San Diego County. My undergraduate education was at Stanford University where I earned a degree in biological science with a minor in Spanish. I attended medical school at UC San Diego School of Medicine and completed my family medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. I am board certified in family medicine and excited to have the blessing to practice back home in San Diego here at our Clairemont Mesa Medical Offices.
About my practice
I am proud to be part of a great team of primary care physicians here. I encourage all of my patients to make healthy lifestyle choices. I believe strongly in nutrition and exercise as medicine, and my goal for you is to be in the best possible health, using evidence-based medicine and the great resources available to Kaiser Permanente members
How I thrive
I believe in practicing what you preach. A healthy diet is very important to me; I am a strict vegetarian/vegan. My sports/physical hobbies include traditional aztec dancing (I started when I was 9 years old), yoga, triathlons, marathons, surfing and weight lifting. I also enjoy playing the trumpet, guitar, piano, and Native American flute, as well as sewing and painting. I love to travel and have been fortunate to go to many places throughout the world. I volunteer providing medical services to the underinsured and uninsured in Tijuana and also in Jamaica. I love reading. I also make spending time with my wonderful wife and my family a top priority. Leading a balanced and fulfilling life is what I strive for, and I am honored to help my patients be their best as well!
