Welcome to my Web page, and thanks for visiting.

Biography

I grew up in rural Idaho. After medical school at Penn State and residency training in Denver, I worked for four years for community health centers, first in Denver then back east in Baltimore. I had spent summers in California and had always loved San Diego. I finally moved here and have been very happy with the decision.

About my practice

I think it is important as your primary care doctor to know you. I enjoy hearing interesting things about you and your life. Even if you come in for an ankle sprain, expect me to talk to you about other aspects of your health like screening tests or preventative health screenings. I encourage my patients to register at Kaiser Permanente.org and take advantage of the online health resources available there. You can get lab results, make appointments, refill prescriptions, and we can email each other. It's a great system.

How I thrive

I love San Diego! I enjoy being outside, whether it’s running in the park, or going out to the coast or beach. I also love sitting with a hot cup of tea, reading a good book, or listening to music. In such a busy society, we all need to take time to slow down and enjoy each day, and I'm trying to do that more.
