Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to share details about my life, training, and practice in an effort to help you pick the right physician. I look forward to working with you to maximize your health and wellness in a fruitful relationship.
I was born in Cairo, Egypt and, along with my family, moved to the San Fernando Valley when I was five. I attended public schools and got a bachelor's degree in biology from UCLA. Along the road to medical school, I took a very valuable detour and started my own media business during the technology boom. I continue my interest in technology and am especially fortunate to be working at Kaiser Permanente, a leader in electronic medical records. I completed medical school at Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, and completed my residency at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center. I also completed a one-year academic medicine fellowship focused on primary care, urgent care, medical education, and health information technology.
About my practice
I try to get to know the people I treat and put a strong emphasis on listening and learning their history. I am a firm believer in treating the whole person. I believe you and your doctor should make decisions together and that you should know as much as possible about your medical conditions, tests, and treatments. I encourage prevention and checkups to make sure you are up to date on vaccinations and cancer screenings. I evaluate your potential risks for cardiovascular disease by assessing your blood pressure, body mass index, and other measures.
How I thrive
Living a balanced life is very important to me. I enjoy spending time with my family. I enjoy digital photography, which is a great creative outlet for me. I shoot with Canon and my Canon 50mm f/1.4 is my favorite lens. I enjoy cooking and eating healthy foods. I have lost 35 pounds since joining Kaiser. I walk three to four times a week with my family, enjoying the great weather on the West Side. Bike riding is another activity I regularly enjoy. We recently bought a bike trailer and now take our two kids on bike rides along the Ballona Creek bike path.
