About me
Hello, I'm Dr. Peter. I'm delighted to introduce myself and share my credentials and background with you. Your comfort and trust in your emergency physician are paramount, and I hope this page helps you feel confident and at ease with the care you will receive from me and our Emergency Department.
Biography
Originally from just outside New York City, I grew up moving around various areas of New England. I found my first passion in emergency medicine while working as an EMT in high school. I subsequently earned a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and economics from Middlebury College in Vermont, where I led their student EMS service. I performed cardiovascular research for two years at Brigham and Women's Hospital while teaching a STEM pipeline program for high schoolers in Boston. I attended medical school at Brown University in Rhode Island and completed a master’s degree there in population medicine, for which I worked with Rwanda's newest emergency medicine residents. I completed my emergency medicine residency training here in Los Angeles at LAC+USC, a combined program of Los Angeles General Medical Center and USC. Throughout residency, I focused on projects related to quality improvement, administration, and informatics, which I look forward to bringing into my career at Kaiser Permanente.
About my practice
Medicine is a profoundly rewarding profession that allows me to build deep connections with patients and make a tangible difference in their lives. It’s more than simply applying medical expertise. It’s about truly understanding and responding to the unique needs of each individual. I feel privileged when members entrust me with their health and well-being. It’s my responsibility to provide clear, compassionate care, from guiding them through complex medical information to coordinating their treatment and supporting them. I believe in treating members with the same level of care and respect I would extend to my own family.
How I thrive
I love staying up to date on the latest research related to our field of emergency medicine and mentoring residents and medical students. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, whipping up new recipes, tackling challenging workouts, finding new scenic hikes locally, and getting outdoors in the year-round sunshine, which my former New England roots will never take for granted.
