Hello, my name is Dr. Eslao. Thank you for visiting my Web page. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2014. If you are viewing this as a potential patient, then you are taking the first step toward getting mental health treatment.
I am originally from the Philippines, and I moved to America after medical school. I am now married and have two young children. I did psychiatric research at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, which was my introduction to psychiatry. I completed my first year internship in Lutheran General Hospital, which is in the Chicago area. I finished the rest of my psychiatric residency in Staten Island, New York. My first job as a psychiatrist was in Warren, Pennsylvania. Since coming to this country, I have lived in four different states. My wife and I decided to settle in California because of the weather and also to be close to relatives. I believe that being well informed is helpful in treatment.
I see adults 18 and older for general psychiatric issues. I mostly practice psychopharmacology, which is the use of medications in the treatment of mental disorders, with minimal psychotherapy, and I try to adhere to established treatments based on current research and evidence.
I read, watch movies, and spend time and travel with my family. I take Taekwondo classes with my son.
