Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I work in the Nephrology Department at Baldwin Park Medical Center. We have a team approach to total kidney care. Our team includes nephrologists, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and dietitians to help you take control of your kidney problems.
I am a native Southern Californian who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I have been a Kaiser Permanente member for most of my life. I graduated from the biomedical sciences program at UC Riverside and then attended the UCLA School of Medicine. I trained in internal medicine and nephrology at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, VA Sepulveda, and UCLA. I chose nephrology because I find the care of kidney patients to be challenging and rewarding. I am currently the chief of the Department of Nephrology here in Baldwin Park and serve as the Southern California chair for Kaiser Permanente’s kidney transplant committee. I am the mother of two young children, and I’m enjoying watching them grow up.
About my practice
Hope for the future is what we work to instill in all patients who come to our department. You can take steps to improve your condition and navigate the waters of chronic disease. We can provide support, education, and the tools necessary to live with kidney disease. We offer the type of dialysis that provides you with the best type of care for your lifestyle. We promote kidney transplant for all patients that qualify physically, and we encourage living donation.
How I thrive
I believe that being aware, informed, and engaged is the best way to stay healthy. Traveling to new places, promoting peaceful coexistence, trying new cuisines, supporting art, and laughing are the ways I do this. Eating a mostly plant-based diet and exercising regularly also help me to live well.
