Where I practice
Hello and thank you for visiting my Web page! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Dr. Misty Cool, a Board Certified Family Medicine Physician who is new to the Kaiser Permanente family. I find it extremely important that you are comfortable with your personal physician and hope that sharing some information about myself may help you decide if I may be the right primary physician for you, your child, a family member, or a friend. I look forward to meeting you in the future!
I am proud to say I was born and raised in Corona, CA. This is why I am thrilled to have returned to my home, where I care for the community that raised me. I received my medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. After that, I completed my residency in Family Medicine at PIH Health in Whittier, CA. In addition to the broad scope of Family Medicine, I received extra training during residency in palliative care and the management of chronic diseases. Therefore, I am interested in easing pain and suffering along with managing potentially lifelong diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
About my practice
I am very passionate about treating the entire family because I am a firm believer that health begins with the family unit. I have confidence that if you and your family members are all under my care, we will work together to maintain the health, happiness, and well-being of your entire family. In my personal practice, I find the most joy in caring for not only you, but for your entire family: your babies, children, parents, grandparents, and extended family. I will work hard to provide the best care and education that I can for each of you. I will also strive to provide a safe environment where we can partner together so that you and yours can live life to the fullest while being happy and healthy, in other words, to thrive!
How I thrive
I am a strong believer in Kaiser Permanente’s model of Total Health. I believe that we need to find balance in our lives and provide care and attention to each aspect of our lives. I maintain my own physical health by being active every day through hiking, jogging, or even just taking an after-dinner walk. I maintain my nutrition with a balanced diet made up of fruit, vegetables, lean meats, nuts, and limited sweets. I maintain my mental health by playing the piano and guitar, listening to music and podcasts, reading books, traveling to new places, and spending time with my family and friends. I find it important to surround myself with people I love while doing the things I love because, after all, sharing our lives with one another is what makes them enjoyable!
