Where I practice
Thank you for visiting my Web page. I do what I love and I love what I do. Medicine is my calling. I feel very privileged and honored to be allowed into your life and will treat you with respect, acceptance, and compassion. I believe health derives from living a healthy lifestyle. I am here to guide and educate you. It is my mission to help you live to your full potential by working towards health and balance in mind, body and spirit and to show you that you have the power to change your life.
I am a native of Southern California. After receiving my B.S. in kinesiology from UCLA, I attended UC Davis Medical School. I completed my internship and residency in a combined internal medicine and pediatrics program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and maintain board certification in both internal medicine and pediatrics. I have also completed both a UCLA internal medicine fellowship studying integrative medicine and medical acupuncture, as well as a Kaiser Permanente fellowship studying primary care orthopedics. I am certified in Reiki 1 and 2.
About my practice
I have been with the Orthopedic Department since 2005, focusing primarily on nonsurgical hand/elbow and pediatric orthopedic conditions. I also have a holistic chronic musculoskeletal pain clinic. Stemming from my personal interest and study in functional medicine, integrative medicine and mind-body medicine, members who come to see me will often get some additional lifestyle coaching and support. You may even walk out of the office with a book in hand, as I believe in sharing resources that I have seen work for others and myself.
How I thrive
I believe we create the lives we have through our choices and actions. My three beautiful and crazy boys keep me grounded and real and always amaze me. I practice meditation and yoga and, at any given time, am reading two to three books, usually on spirituality and integrative/energy/mind-body medicine. My favorite authors are Deepak Chopra and Paolo Coelho. I love going to Linkin Park concerts and seeing Omar Akram perform whenever possible. More than anything, I try to live mindfully and with purpose, according to a higher vision, out of love, not out of fear.
