Where I practice
Welcome to the Ophthalmology Department at the Los Angeles Medical Center. We are an all-inclusive ophthalmology service, with all major ophthalmic subspecialty services represented.
My PhD studies investigated the pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus. More recent research has investigated pharmacologic treatment for diabetic macular edema that has been unresponsive to traditional treatment. Currently, I treat medical and surgical diseases of the eye.
About my practice
I am a physician-scientist. I pride myself on being able to provide you with health care supported by scientifically proven studies to the greatest degree possible. As my member you will be well informed on the current thinking with respect to your eye condition. I do quite a bit of cataract surgery and perform a high volume of premium intraocular lenses for those members who qualify.
How I thrive
My interests are always changing, but the unchanging foundation is my family. My wife is also a Kaiser Permanente physician in the Family Medicine Department. She is also involved in the Family Medicine Residency program. And, yes, we do carpool to work! Outside work, we spend all our free time with our daughters, a preteen and a toddler. Recently, we've been getting back to roots with slow food. We try to grow our own vegetables as much as possible. I've been making beer. Experimenting in biology is fun! I burn that off by cycling.
