Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Amini. I am a gastroenterologist, a doctor specializing in matters of the stomach, liver, pancreas, and intestines. I work in Kaiser Permanente’s Lancaster offices and treat members with a variety of conditions of the gastrointestinal tract.
I was born in Iran and am the third physician in my family. I came to the United States as a child and completed all my education in the states. I attended college at UCLA and then went on to study medicine at Vanderbilt University in Nashville. I served my internship and residency at County/USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, as well as a fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2011 and appreciate the fact that they allow me to focus on members and medicine, not billing and business practices.
About my practice
As a gastroenterologist, members generally see me for any number of intestinal problems that may be new and/or urgent or have been bothering them for many years but have not responded well to prior treatments. I try to spend as much time as possible at the outset to evaluate the member’s condition and devise a treatment strategy that I believe will be most effective. Sometimes this simply involves lifestyle changes such as developing better eating habits or trying to reduce stress factors. At other times it may involve procedures such as upper endoscopy or colonoscopy to directly evaluate the stomach, esophagus, or colon. We often work closely with our general surgery colleagues with members who may need surgery. Each case is unique, and I work with my members to determine the best individual course of action that promises the best possible outcome. Our objective is to address your problems directly and completely, so that you can return to an active and fulfilling life.
How I thrive
Being able to spend time with my wife and two small children is my highest priority. I love playing soccer, plus I’m becoming quite a golfer. In quiet times, I listen to a wide range of music.
