Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have been practicing emergency medicine for 20 years, and have been affiliated with Kaiser Permanente for 17 years. Hopefully you will not have an emergency, but if you ever do, the emergency department is always here for you.
Kaiser Permanente allows me the flexibility to do work which benefits the medical community at large. I volunteer at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where I teach residents, interns and medical students. I am an assistant clinical professor of medicine at UCLA, the vice president of the American Academy of Emergency Physicians, and the current executive director and a past president (2001) of Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society-Pacific Chapter.
About my practice
In addition to practicing full time emergency medicine here at West Los Angeles, nationally, I am Kaiser Permanente's Resource Physician for Underwater & Hyperbaric Medicine. I have lectured internationally on various subjects in medicine, but I most enjoy lecturing other physicians and divers, educating them on both avoiding and treating diving and marine related injuries.
How I thrive
I enjoy scuba diving and photography. I am a NAUI dive instructor, have traveled all over the world diving, and I have won international photography competitions.
