Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I believe effective, lasting relationships are based on good communication. I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to see if I am a good fit for you.
I grew up in Inglewood, California in a humble home where herbal remedies and Vitamin B12 shots were the norm. Long trips to Tijuana, Mexico, for doctor visits triggered my curiosity in becoming a doctor and improving the health care disparities that existed in my community. After graduating from Brown University, I worked at the Harbor-UCLA Research and Education Institute for the Women’s Health Initiative. I then attended medical school at the American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten with subsequent clinical and residency training completed on the East Coast.
About my practice
I am a bilingual physician who works in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. Patients of all ages who take a proactive role in their own health care maintenance make my job enjoyable. I strongly believe in the human spirit, and nothing tops a positive attitude. A positive attitude is a great catalyst for health reform. In my practice, I also promote staying informed and eating in moderation, along with exercising the body and brain.
How I thrive
I enjoy eating and trying new foods, dancing, laughing, cruising, traveling, and watching sports with my Puerto Rican husband and family and friends. I am a proud member of a large extended family rooted in Zacatecas, Mexico. Experiencing my own culture makes me value that of others and enjoy it that much more.
