Kaiser Permanente physician
My gender: Male
Accepting new patients. Referral may be required.
Welcome to my Web page. If you are reading this, it probably means your primary physician has referred you to a surgeon. Many patients are nervous about the possibility of having surgery. Something to keep in mind is that only about half the patients seen by me require surgery.
I am originally from San Francisco but left California to get my medical training. I returned to California to join Kaiser Permanente here in Bakersfield in 2003. I am married and have two daughters. All of us enjoy our life here in Bakersfield very much.
A large part of my practice as a surgeon involves performing procedures on my patients, but not all ailments sent to a surgeon require an operation. I feel my role is to provide you with options both surgical and nonsurgical, as we take into account your specific condition and medical history.
I believe the body and mind are connected and the health of one affects the health of the other. In order to be truly healthy, one must exercise both the mind and the body. For myself, work exercises my mind, and in my free time, I enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, skiing, and lake kayaking. My family and I head to the Sierra Nevada mountains as often as possible to pursue these activities.
