About me
Hi! You can call me Dr. Z. I’m so happy to have this opportunity to introduce myself. By choosing a pediatrician for your family, you start to build the foundation for lifelong health. I hope this page will give you a sense of where I am coming from and what I bring to our health care relationship.
Biography
I hail from New York City and received my education and training there, remaining in the Northeast to practice medicine and stay close to family. But I am excited for a new adventure on the West Coast with California providing the sunshine and warmth to get out in nature all year round. I love offering advice to new parents and caregivers, helping young kids get comfortable when visiting the doctor, and addressing difficult topics with adolescents. In addition to my particular interests in mental health and adolescent medicine, I look forward to getting out in the community and making a healthy impact there.
About my practice
“It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.” This Frederick Douglass quote motivates me in my medical career journey. Let’s be proactive together now, taking the course of prevention over temporary solutions, establishing healthy habits before getting stuck in routines that feel impossible to change, building resilience physically and mentally to face the challenges of daily living. As an osteopathic physician, I look at the whole person, not a list of diagnoses. I see the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit and the impact of family, community, and available resources, and I want to work with you so you can be your better self.
How I thrive
You have to practice what you preach! My medical career has always been one of the most stressful aspects of my life, but it has also been one of my greatest teachers. As much as I love caring for others, I cannot compromise on caring for myself. Besides finding a healthy work environment, I take time to nurture my relationship with me as well as the important people in my life. I recently became a certified yoga teacher as I have found the practice incredibly helpful in recharging my batteries. I also enjoy spending time with my husband getting out into nature — and there is much to explore here in Los Angeles County!
