About me
Welcome, and thank you for entrusting me with your health. I am a board-certified general surgeon with additional fellowship training in minimally invasive surgery. This allows me to consider multiple options when approaching surgical care and to try to find the best strategy for each individual.
Biography
I grew up internationally, but my family landed in the Midwest as I was finishing high school, so I attended college and medical school in Ohio and Missouri. As luck would have it, I eventually followed my family out to California for surgical training, and we all ended up back together in Los Angeles. I completed my general surgery training at UC San Francisco-East Bay in Oakland, and my minimally invasive fellowship training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. I am so grateful for the wealth of knowledge that my mentors and patients provided to me. I joined Kaiser Permanente immediately afterward, as it provided everything I was looking for in my practice. In additional, I run the training program for our surgical residents — making sure the surgeons who will be taking care of us all tomorrow and in the future are learning from our knowledge and experience. You are a key part of their education, and because you have helped them gain knowledge, we are securing the future of surgery. I also serve as a mentor for ElevateMeD, an organization supporting students from underrepresented backgrounds in medicine.
About my practice
Going to see a surgeon can be intimating or anxiety-provoking, but we are here to see how we can best help you. We will talk through the options to decide which makes the most sense for your particular situation. We are on the same team, which wants to take good care of you.
How I thrive
I am so lucky to have an incredibly supportive husband, a amazing toddler with boundless energy and a joy for life, and a close-knit family who cheer me on every step of the way. When I’m not at work, I can usually be found at a playground, reading a book, learning to embroider, and trying to be a good mentor to surgical trainees.
