About me
I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.
Biography
I grew up in sunny Orange County to immigrant parents from Japan. After attending high school, I took a few years off to explore different avenues but eventually attended UC Irvine for undergrad. I subsequently attended the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee for medical school. The strong ear, nose, and throat (ENT) program there influenced me to pursue otolaryngology for residency. I moved to Chicago for residency at Loyola Medical Center. To further my knowledge and skill set, I then moved to Pittsburgh, where endoscopic skull base surgery was innovated, for fellowship in rhinology (study of the nose) and skull base surgery. I am happy to return home to family and friends in Southern California to treat members with various ENT issues.
About my practice
I see all general ENT issues, but my specific areas of interest include rhinology and skull base surgery. As a rhinologist, I see members with nasal blockage, decreased sense of smell, nose bleed, drainage, and sinus pressure. I treat members with deviated septum, sinusitis, rhinitis, cystic fibrosis, sinonasal tumors (both benign and malignant), and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak. I also team up with the Neurosurgery Department at the Los Angeles Medical Center to treat members with pituitary tumors, meningiomas, and other skull base tumors via a minimally invasive, endonasal endoscopic route.
How I thrive
My interests outside of work include cooking, snowboarding, rock climbing, golf, cycling, and traveling. Most of all, I enjoy doing these with my partner and family!
