About me
My name is Kenneth De Los Reyes. I am thankful to have the opportunity to introduce myself. I am very excited to have joined the Neurosurgery Department at Kaiser Permanente. My number one priority is to provide high-quality neurosurgical care. I look forward to meeting you.
Biography
Originally from New York City, I was born of Filipino immigrants who taught me the importance of a strong work ethic, honesty, compassion, and family values. After graduating medical school at New York University, I completed my neurosurgical residency training at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, also in New York City. I then finished an endoscopic skull base and pituitary fellowship with the well-renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Edward Laws at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. I then completed a fellowship with Dr. Harry van Loveren at the University of South Florida in Tampa, specializing in open and complex cranial and skull base surgery. I moved to Southern California in 2014 and have been practicing neurosurgery since then. Since 2019, I have volunteered to provide care and ringside supervision for young athletes aspiring to make the Olympics in USA boxing.
About my practice
I am passionate about providing the neurosurgical care for members in the most personable manner. Whether that be in treating complex cranial and skull base brain tumors and other vascular problems that can cause blindness, hearing loss, stroke, seizures and weakness, or spinal conditions that cause debilitating pain, I want to forge a strong relationship with you built on trust and compassion. I want to provide you with a level of expertise that can help restore your function, prevent disability, improve your quality of life, and extend your life with good health and comfort. Meeting your goals may require surgery, but only when absolutely necessary — surveillance, nonsurgical care, and counseling are how I can best help you, because that is how I would treat my own family. Always know that I am committed to your care and that your time will be respected.
How I thrive
I am 100% committed to Kaiser Permanente’s philosophy of health and try to live my life as such. As a parent, I firmly believe in balance in life because my role as a father is my priority. My family is of utmost importance to me, and I spend as much time with them as I can — relaxing, cooking, dancing, traveling, and going to sporting and music events. I dedicate myself to physical and mental fitness with a combination of different activities including hiking, playing the piano, cycling, boxing, and training my Doberman pinscher in agility and therapy dog training. Balance allows me to thrive in my personal and professional lives.
