Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am happy to introduce myself, and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente with wonderful colleagues and patients, and look forward to partnering with you to care for your health.
I went into medicine because it was a great way to combine my love of science with my interest in people. I am especially interested in nutrition and in women's health. I moved from South Dakota to California to attend medical school, and fell in love with and married a native Southern Californian. After my residency, we made our home here.
About my practice
I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay well, but I am here to help you when you are sick. I want to be your partner in health. I can provide better care for you when you are actively involved. I am working on my Spanish, but I still often need the assistance of an interpreter. I especially love helping patients improve their health by learning about whole-food plant-based nutrition.
How I thrive
Keeping balance in my life is very important to me. I eat a strict vegetarian diet, exercise regularly, and try to get enough sleep. I do a variety of things to make exercise fun and stay motivated. I enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, sailing, yoga, and walking my dogs. One of the highlights of my week is rehearsing and singing in my church choir. I love to eat out at a good vegetarian restaurant. I also make it a priority to set aside time to just relax or read a good book.
