Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am glad to have the opportunity to share with you a little about myself as a physician and person. I am proud to be a Kaiser Permanente physician and member. Providing a high level of care for our members is my goal. I am honored to treat members in a unique phase of life: pregnancy. A partnership between you, your family, and our high-risk obstetric team will help us navigate even tough situations. I look forward to working with you!
My interests have always been broad but I have always found myself involved in medicine in one form or another. In high school I was a nurse's aide. After high school I worked in research for Parkinson's disease and infectious diseases. After my undergraduate training, I worked for the Human Genome Project then went to medical school. I was fortunate to train in New York City at various hospitals from the Village to Harlem. I chose obstetrics and gynecology, completing my residency in Long Island. I came back to the West Coast for a fellowship in high-risk obstetrics, where I had the opportunity to train in Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. I feel fortunate to have this broad experience and feel that it provides a unique insight into some of the challenges our members face.
About my practice
As a maternal-fetal medicine doctor (perinatologist), I am concerned with mothers and unborn babies who are at higher risk for complications. We help moms with special medical problems (such as heart or kidney diseases, diabetes, or high blood pressure) and unborn babies who are at high risk. Our team of caring providers includes genetic counselors, ultrasonographers, nurse case managers, and vocational nurses. We work closely with other specialists in our group. Our services include prenatal diagnosis, targeted fetal assessment using ultrasound, Doppler ultrasound, and other advanced diagnostic techniques.
How I thrive
I stay balanced by spending time with my husband and two young daughters. I love letting loose, being goofy, and revisiting the world through my little ones' eyes. I enjoy helping others, especially those in difficult situations. I learn from the people I take care of as a physician and their families. I highly value working with others as part of a team.
