Where I practice
I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and patients, and I look forward to working with you to care for your health.
My father was in the United States Air Force, so I'm from all over. The family home is now Sacramento. I went to UC Santa Barbara for my undergraduate degree and UC San Diego for medical school. I stayed in San Diego for my family medicine residency training, which I finished in 1987. I am married and have three wonderful children.
About my practice
My time is split between clinical work and administrative work. I work at Kaiser Permanente Clairemont Mesa Medical Offices in the family medicine residency center, seeing patients 60 percent of the time. I spend the remainder of my time doing administrative duties or attending educational activities. I am excited to see members of all ages, including children under age 10. I'm very proud of my health care team, and I believe my colleagues are wonderful physicians.
How I thrive
I thrive by eating well and being active with my children. We love to hike and ride bicycles. I am active with my children in the Scouting program. My children are certified scuba divers, and we all look forward to an annual scuba trip, most likely in Hawaii. I am also a native-plant gardener and local canyon enthusiast. Finally, I have the support and love of a wonderful wife.
