Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to have this chance to introduce myself and tell you about my work as a family medicine physician with Kaiser Permanente.
I came to the United States from South Korea when I was 10 years old. Growing up in Southern California was wonderful and I especially enjoyed being an undergraduate student at UCLA. After graduation, I served as a community organizer, helping improve working conditions in immigrant communities. This experience allowed me to realize my heart was in serving people. I pursued this idea by earning a second undergraduate degree from UC Irvine, followed by a doctorate from the UC San Francisco School of Medicine. I completed my internship and residency at the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Additionally, after my residency, I was one of five community medicine fellows working with the uninsured and the homeless population. I’m excited to now be a part of the Brea team.
A career in medicine is a very special opportunity to connect with and help people in a meaningful way, utilizing medical skills and knowledge, but also listening and responding to what members need. It’s a privilege to help members understand what concerns them, translate what they may not grasp, get them appropriate evaluations, and communicate with them and their families. My practice includes attending to both children and adults—I feel very honored that members of all ages have entrusted me with their care. I strive to treat them as I would my own family.
I try to appreciate every moment and stay positive. I practice yoga and enjoy working on my golf game.
