About me

Hello! I am Dr. Jenna Farmer.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit more about me and how I view caring for you and navigating serious illness with you as my honor and privilege.

Biography

I grew up north of Sacramento on rural farmland, where I raised all kinds of animals. I moved to Boise, Idaho, for college to complete my undergraduate education at Boise State (Go, Broncos!), and I stayed in Boise to complete medical school and residency in rural family medicine, where I cared for patients of all ages in the hospital, in the intensive care unit, and in the clinic. My spouse and I then moved to Los Angeles, where I completed my fellowship in hospice and palliative care at UCLA. I am now so happy to be settled long-term in Southern California and working in the Antelope Valley area to be able to care for members like you.

About my practice

I feel that all people should be treated with the utmost respect and humility, especially when navigating a serious illness. In my specialty, we often discuss hard things and serious diseases. I believe those discussions should be done with as much care, respect, and humanity as possible. I am fortunate to have a team of people who help to care for you and your loved ones during the tough times, and I believe your care is better when we partner together.

How I thrive

I thrive by ensuring a moment of time for myself each day — even on the busiest days. I think it is crucial to have time for one's self to reconnect with your personhood. That can look different for me, depending on the day. Sometimes that looks like a peaceful stroll through my favorite park with my dog, or it could be an intense weight-lifting session, or sometimes it looks like enjoying a nice hot cup of tea while listening to an audiobook and playing board games with my spouse.
