Hello, and thanks for visiting my Web page. My name is Jesse Mahal, and I am a neurosurgery hospitalist at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center.
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and originally came to Southern California for medical school at Western University of Health Sciences. I returned to UC Davis to complete a residency in family medicine. During residency, it became clear to me that I preferred caring for the sickest patients in the hospital setting over the traditional clinic setting. Thus, I have spent my entire career focused on inpatient medicine as a hospitalist. As a lifelong Californian, it is wonderful to feel so naturally connected to the community that I serve.
I am a part of the neurosurgery hospitalist team at Los Angeles Medical Center. As such, I specialize in caring for hospital patients affected by neurosurgical disease processes. These ailments are very often life altering, and our members benefit from having a dedicated team of medical doctors to assist in their recovery. Those with severe neurologic injuries are also inherently at high risk for complications, which my team and I take pride in working to prevent.
I firmly believe that health care professionals have a responsibility to lead by example when it comes to healthy habits. In my case, I enjoy eating healthy meals and getting daily exercise. Some of my favorite ways to de-stress include yoga and cycling in nearby Griffith Park.
