Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I'm happy to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very lucky to work at Kaiser Permanente, and I enjoy my colleagues and patients. Given the opportunity, I will do my best to help you care for your health.
I am from Iowa but have been in California since my training at Los Angeles County Hospital + USC Medical Center. I am a general internist and also practice addiction medicine several half-days a week. I have been with Kaiser Permanente in West Los Angeles for over 20 years and especially enjoy having the long-term relationships with my patients that general medicine makes possible.
About my practice
My team members and I have formed good relationships with one another, and we meet for a few minutes every morning to go over the day's challenges. My nurse has been a great help to me. Our team is also fortunate to have a team lead and a registered nurse who are both fabulous; they make sure messages get answered quickly and details don't fall through the cracks.
How I thrive
I have always been very active physically. I have run several marathons in the past and have been competing in the Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Triathlon for the last several years. I love yoga and encourage my patients to try yoga, tai chi, or pilates. Flexibility activities are very important as you get older. I am a very active reader and also listen to a lot of books on tape (and now on an MP3 player).
