About me
Hello, and thank you for visiting my Web page. I hope to tell you a little about myself my goals as your physician.
Biography
I was born in Korea and immigrated with my family to Los Angeles when I was 8 years old. I grew up helping my parents at their acupuncture clinic, where I began my understanding of how the body can heal. I was admitted to the Program in Liberal Medical Education (PLME) at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, where I studied neuroscience as an undergraduate before continuing to medical school. I spent a year abroad at Oxford University thinking critically about foundations of neuroscience, and a year as a graduate student at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where I learned how policies and systems influence health of individuals and communities. I completed my residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Northwestern University/Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago, Illinois. Following residency, I pursued additional fellowship training in sports medicine at Stanford University in California, where I deepened my understanding of sports injuries and musculoskeletal medicine. There, I served as a team physician for the Stanford University teams and provided care for athletes at Menlo College and De Anza College in California. Additionally, I covered professional soccer games with the San Jose Earthquakes and worked closely with the adaptive sports program at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center. I have specific clinical interest in taking care of performing artists, women athletes, and musculoskeletal issues relating to pregnancy and postpartum.
About my practice
My love for dance and movement is foundational to my philosophy as a sports medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation doctor, which is that the body is sacred. My practice will include nonsurgical management of musculoskeletal conditions. Specifically, I hope to use my medical knowledge to help improve your physical function and performance and to support your goals.
How I thrive
On my days off, I enjoy catching up with friends and family, running outside, and taking yoga and dance classes. I delight in quiet mornings with a good book and a cup of floral tea in my hand.
