Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I’m happy to introduce myself to you and tell you about my practice. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, and I look forward to working with you to care for your eye health.
I moved from Baltimore to Los Angeles to finish my medical training, but fell in love with the sunny weather and made Southern California my home for good. I was born in South Korea, but moved to Maryland with my parents at age 13. My interest in ophthalmology began when a sewing needle penetrated my mother's eye. This incident, which occurred when I was in high school, made me realize the importance of sight and inspired me to choose a career in ophthalmology. I’m married to a beautiful wife and we have an energetic, wonderful 10-year-old son.
About my practice
I feel that healthy living and preventive care are the best ways to stay healthy. I will see you for a routine eye examination, but I’m also here to help you when you are having problems with your eyes. I have a general ophthalmology practice, which means I do a little bit of everything when it comes to eye health. I have specialty training in glaucoma and refractive surgeries.
How I thrive
I firmly believe in Kaiser Permanente's philosophy of health in mind, body, and spirit, and try to live it in my life every day. My family life is my major priority. I enjoy family camping trips and going to museums. I referee my son's soccer games, and I try to remain active within my community through volunteering and church activities. When I do travel, I try to return to Maryland to visit my mother.
