About me

Welcome to my Web page. I hope this page will help you get to know me. I'm delighted to have this opportunity to introduce myself, present my credentials, and inform you about my practice. I look forward to partnering with you to care for your health.

Biography

A picture of me at age one with my uncle's stethoscope marked my early exposure to doctors and medicine. Who could have guessed that almost 40 years later I would be practicing medicine with my uncle at the same institution? After attending Fairfax High School in Los Angeles and obtaining my bachelors degree at UCLA, I earned my medical degree at UC Irvine. I then married my high school sweetheart and began a surgery residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. I was fascinated with orthopedic surgery and spent the next four years completing my training at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. I feel very fortunate to work at Kaiser Permanente because of my wonderful colleagues and our members, but mostly because of the freedom I have to treat members as I would my own family. The year 2014 marked my 17th anniversary with Kaiser Permanente. I love my wife and my two wonderful boys. Nearly losing my older son to an automobile accident has provided me with an incredibly transformed and insightful perspective on life in general and on family in particular.

About my practice

I'm sure you've heard the saying "variety is the spice of life". Basically, orthopaedic surgery provides that variety in my professional life—I see all types of people at different stages in their lives. The fulfillment comes from touching peoples' lives to relieve their pain, make their bodies whole again, and improve their quality of life. In my practice, I perform a lot of joint replacements. I work with a wonderful group of professionals. Using the latest orthopaedic implant technology, we work as a team to provide high-quality orthopaedic surgical care.

How I thrive

Inspired by a colleague in 2001, I changed my eating habits and made time for regular exercise. The weekly soccer game has given me plenty of energy to spend quality time with my family. My son’s survival of a serious accident and his long road to recovery have also provided me and the rest of my family a transformed perspective on life! With a clear mind, a sharp focus, and a sound body, I look forward to today, tomorrow, and forever.
