Welcome to my Web page. My name is Dr. Henry Dorman, and I am a nephrologist, which means I am a specialist in kidney diseases and hypertension. I see members at the Kaiser Permanente Riverside Medical Center who are referred to me for help in managing their kidney disease or high blood pressure. I have been working at Kaiser Permanente for the past 25 years.
I was born and raised in Michigan and went to college at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. I attended medical school in Guadalajara, Mexico, and am fluent in Spanish. I did my postgraduate training in both internal medicine and nephrology back in Detroit at Wayne State University. I am board certified in both internal medicine and nephrology, and I am a member of the American Society of Nephrology.
I have been in practice with Kaiser Permanente in Riverside since I finished my training over 25 years ago. I was the only nephrologist in Riverside for nine years, but now I have six partners. We have our own hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis clinics. We also refer members to Loma Linda University, UCLA, and Scripps Clinic for kidney and pancreas transplants. My colleagues and I in the Nephrology Department always strive to give our members high-quality care. We encourage patients to pursue kidney transplantation and if this is not possible then methods of home dialysis including peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis. We have a strong team of nurses, social workers and dietitians helping with patient care.
I keep up to date in nephrology using the American Society of Nephrology updates and meetings. I also use a web-based clinical reference called UpToDate which has the latest medical information, and can be accessed on a smartphone. I keep in shape going to the gym several times a week to keep fit and functional.
