Hello, and welcome to my Web page. Thank you for taking time from your day to learn more about me. I feel very privileged to be a Kaiser Permanente physician, and I am committed to working to enhance and promote the health of my patients.
I was born in India, and lived there almost half my life there. I’ve spent the other half here in the United States. I began my career in medicine as an anesthesiologist on the East Coast; however, mid-career, I decided to pursue internal medicine. I did my residency in internal medicine at UCLA Olive View Medical Center, and my fellowship in pulmonary critical care at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. I feel blessed to live in Southern California.
I am a pulmonologist as well as critical care physician. Primarily, I work in the intensive care unit, taking care of a broad spectrum of diseases that are unified by a high degree of acuity and severity. However, I also have an outpatient practice where I see heath issues involving the lungs and chest. I believe a physician's role is to be an advocate for patients under their care, and I am privileged every day that members and families allow me into their lives and entrust me with their most precious commodity, their health.
We are surrounded by so much beauty, diversity, and sunshine. I enjoy hiking, yoga classes, and dance classes – basically anything that keeps me moving and allows me to challenge myself. However, what really brings balance to my life is spending quality time with my family and friends, near and abroad.
