Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page. I am pleased to have the opportunity to introduce myself and my practice style.
I became a physician because I enjoyed studying the functioning of the human body from a scientific perspective but realized that I also enjoyed daily interaction with people. Becoming a doctor was a natural marriage of these two things. I became a neurologist because this is one of the most challenging and quickly evolving fields of medicine, where new therapies are being developed for diseases that were previously considered to be untreatable even just 5 or 10 years ago.
About my practice
My role as a consultant physician is to assist your primary care doctor in the assessment and management of neurological diseases. My practice style places an emphasis on giving you the information you need to make an informed decision about your health care. I think of the patient, the patient's family, and myself as comprising a health care team that makes decisions together.
How I thrive
I am committed to having an influence beyond my daily work at Kaiser Permanente and I also enjoy teaching. I volunteer once a month with St. Vincent de Paul Village, where I see neurological cases. I also assist in teaching the UC San Diego residents in family medicine and psychiatry how to approach and treat patients with neurological conditions. I also believe in maintaining a healthy personal lifestyle and remaining active both mentally and physically. I enjoy running, reading fantasy, science fiction and history, music, going to the beach and traveling.
