Hello and welcome! Thank you for visiting my Web page. I am happy to be a Kaiser Permanente physician, and look forward to serving your kidney health care needs.
I was born in Taiwan and along with my family came to the United States at a young age. I came from a family of physicians. My grandfather was an otolaryngologist and my father is a pediatrician. I went to college and graduate school at UC San Diego, where I earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry. After that, I attended medical school at College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona to pursue my dream and to fulfill my passion to become a doctor. I decided to be a kidney specialist during my fourth year in medical school. I felt that it was a natural progression to become a nephrologist following my background in chemistry. I like to apply laboratory values to the clinical scenario to figure out what makes sense. After graduating, I completed all of my postgraduate medical training through Kaiser Permanente medical education programs. I feel privileged and honored to practice medicine as a nephrologist at Kaiser Permanente.
I am a kidney specialist, a medical doctor who specializes in kidney care and treating diseases of the kidneys. I treat conditions such as chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and high blood pressure. We manage patients who are on dialysis as well as those who underwent kidney transplantations. I work closely with nurses, pharmacists, dietitians, and social workers using a team approach, to provide the most comprehensive care for our patients. The coordinated and integrated care model at Kaiser Permanente, providing high-quality, caring, and convenient health care, is consistent with what I believe as the most efficient and cost-effective medicine.
It is important for physicians to cultivate interest and maintain a healthy and well-balanced life. During my time off work, I enjoy being with my family and friends. I thrive by engaging in activities that interest me the most, including exercising, playing basketball, singing, and playing the drums.
