About me
Welcome! I'm Dr. Yu, a pediatrician dedicated to helping children and families thrive. I look forward to partnering with you to support your child's health, development, and well-being at every stage of growth.
Biography
I am a board-certified pediatrician with a passion for preventive care, community health, and helping children reach their full potential. I earned my doctor of medicine degree from Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and completed a master of public health in child and family health at USC.
I completed my pediatric residency training at Kaiser Permanente’s Los Angeles Medical Center, followed by a community medicine fellowship, where I developed additional expertise in population health, quality improvement, and addressing the social factors that influence health. My interest in pediatrics grew from a desire to build lasting relationships with families and to support children through every stage of development. I believe high-quality care happens when families and physicians work together. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where patients and caregivers feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions. I work closely with each family to understand their concerns, discuss available options, and develop care plans that align with their goals and values.
About my practice
As a pediatrician, I provide comprehensive care for children from birth through adolescence, including preventive care, developmental guidance, management of acute illnesses, and support for chronic health conditions. I am fortunate to work alongside a dedicated care team, and together we strive to provide compassionate and high-quality care for every child and family we serve.
How I thrive
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and staying active. Traveling allows me to experience new places, cultures, and perspectives, while fishing gives me an opportunity to slow down, appreciate nature, and recharge. I also enjoy swimming and ocean sports, which help me maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.
At home, I enjoy gardening and find it rewarding to nurture plants and watch them grow over time. Many of the activities I enjoy reflect the same values that drew me to pediatrics: patience, curiosity, lifelong learning, and an appreciation for growth and development.
