Welcome! I'm excited to tell you a little bit about myself and what I do.
I've lived in many parts of the country—Pittsburgh, Atlanta, San Francisco, Honolulu, Ann Arbor, and Washington, DC. Now, I call Southern California home. I like meeting people from all walks of life.
I enjoy the intellectual and technical challenges anesthesiology presents. I realize you place a lot of trust in us when you come for surgery. My goal is not only to ensure your safety but also to reassure and counsel you during those unavoidably anxious moments you might experience before surgery. I have broad training in all aspects of general anesthesia and extended experience in thoracic and orthopedic anesthesia. I might be assisting in the birth of a newborn on one day, and the next day I might be helping in the repair of a senior's broken hip.
My hobbies include the violin, traveling, camping, tennis, and competing in triathlons, but my passion has always been surfing. These days, most of my balance is found through ordinary activities with my wife and two young boys. Sports and physical activity, however, allow me to recharge—even if it's only for a few minutes.
