Welcome to my Web page and thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself.
Born in upstate New York, I was raised on autumnal colors and cider doughnuts. I majored in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University and returned to New York for medical school. After years of training, including a sleep fellowship, I temporarily rooted myself in the Bay Area and practiced sleep medicine full-time from 2009 to 2014. Joining Kaiser Permanente has finally allowed me to live near my sister and I couldn't be happier.
Sleep is fascinating. We spend one-third of our lives sleeping; and research is finally beginning to reveal the science underneath it. On a more basic level, most living organisms on the planet exhibit a 24-hour rhythm. I'm passionate about sleep and I genuinely love what I do. I hope you sense that when we spend time together in the clinic. It's an honor and a privilege to help care for you and I promise never to take that for granted.
Outside of health care you'll find me cycling, and sometimes running after my little niece. I'm also learning to play the guitar, hoping one day to provide accompaniment to my out-of-tune singing. Without question my favorite science program is Radiolab.
