Where I practice
Welcome to my Web page, and if you are new, welcome to the Kaiser Permanente family. This is a great opportunity for me to personally share with you a little about me as a person and as your physician. It will also give me a chance to share with you a little bit about my practice style.
I was born and raised in the South Bay area, and I feel very fortunate to be able to return home to practice in the place I grew up. After attending UCLA for medical school, I spent my residency years training at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center with some of the best family medicine doctors in the country. I am Chinese-American and thanks to my parents, I can still speak some Mandarin. I also learned Spanish in high school and medical school.
About my practice
I am proud of the emphasis that Kaiser Permanente places on research, and I strive to base my decisions and care on the most up-to-date medical knowledge available. However, I also understand that each individual is unique and there will be times when we will need to make adjustments to conventional therapy for your individual needs.
How I thrive
Life is about balance and making adjustments to the challenges that come our way. One way that I try to manage the stresses of daily life is to run regularly. I have not always been a runner and, in fact, I used to be one of the worst runners in my class. After my wife inspired me to join her in running my first half marathon a number of years ago, I have been hooked on running and have done several races of varying lengths. Regular exercise has now become a vital part of my physical and emotional health.
