Where I practice
Hi, my nickname is Doug. I'm glad to have the opportunity to present my credentials to you and share other information about myself. It's very important that you feel comfortable with your personal physician, and I hope this page will help you get to know me.
I grew up in San Diego and went to college at UC Davis in Northern California. After college, I worked in osteoporosis research at UC San Francisco. After completing research, I decided to pursue medicine and finished a residency on the East Coast at Roger Williams Medical Center, a Boston University affiliate in Providence, Rhode Island. I initially practiced medicine as a hospitalist at Rhode Island Hospital after graduating. I met my wife, who is also an internal medicine physician, during residency and we got married in Southern India. I've finally returned to sunny California with my wife and baby daughter, where I plan to continue practicing medicine.
About my practice
Being your primary care doctor is an opportunity for me to form a relationship with you based on the mutual goal of healthy living. I look forward to addressing your health care concerns and forging a path together that will meet your needs.
How I thrive
Maintaining balance in my life is important. My family and friends are the most important aspects of my life. I am an active person as well and enjoy many activities, including surfing, snowboarding, tennis, hiking, golfing, and basketball. On the weekends, you will probably find me walking with my wife and daughter on the beach or at the local farmers market looking for fresh produce. I enjoy reading during my free time and keeping up-to-date with medicine to provide the best care to members.
